KyklOIKOdromio signed the sub-grant agreement for the project "Circular Economy Actions for All" funded by the European programme U-SOLVE EΝΙ CBC MED.
The project includes two actions: An online platform for the exchange, purchase and donation of used objects and the establishment of the first Library of Things in Cyprus.
Thus, the first "Library of things" is a fact and it is located at 16-18 Liasidou Street in Nicosia within the walls and is operated voluntarily by KyklOIKOdromio. The "Library of Things" is a collection of objects where a member of the local community can borrow occasionally used objects such as tools, gardening or hobby equipment, musical instruments, etc. All items from the library collection are picked up and returned to the library during library hours. Library card holders may borrow an item for a period of up to one week for a daily fee. This is a concept that encourages sharing and sustainability by providing access to a wide range of items that people may only need occasionally. Visit our online store https://circularlibraryforall.org/ to see the variety of items in our library and their availability. The concept aims to reduce consumption, promote collaborative consumption and build a sense of community. It is based on the principle of "lending rather than buying" and helps to reduce environmental impact.
At the same time, for the first time in Cyprus, the "Online Platform" for the exchange, purchase and donation of used items was developed in cooperation with the Municipality of Strovolos. The "Circular for all" platform is a single online platform, which was designed with the mission to connect people who wish to exchange, sell, buy, donate or repair used items in an easy, safe and sustainable way but also as a means where one can find small businesses that provide repair services. By participating in the platform, you directly contribute to minimizing waste generation and reducing demand for new product production.
