On Friday, February 28, 2025, KyklOIKOdromio conducted an interactive educational activity at the private The Junior & Senior School with the participation of approximately 80 middle and high school students. The goal of the activity was to familiarize students with the fundamental principles of the circular economy and to understand the 9R framework (Refuse, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Refurbish, Remanufacture, Repurpose, Recycle), which form the foundation for more sustainable resource management.

The activity began with a short presentation introducing students to the concepts of the circular economy and the importance of reuse and recycling. Through examples and discussion, students gained insight into how they can contribute to waste reduction and the more effective utilization of available materials.

Following the presentation, students were divided into eight groups and tasked with creating structures using recyclable and everyday materials such as cardboard packaging, plastic bottles, fabric scraps, newspapers, and other items. The challenge was to redefine the use of these materials and create new objects, demonstrating that even waste can gain new life through repurposing and alternative usage.

The interactive workshop not only encouraged students' creativity and teamwork but also helped them understand the value of the circular economy in practice. Through this hands-on experience, students developed environmental awareness and realized the significance of reuse in their daily lives.

The success of the activity was evident from both the enthusiasm of the students and the innovative projects they created. KyklOIKOdromio continues to promote environmental education, inspiring the younger generation to adopt practices that contribute to a more sustainable future.
