For the second time in Cyprus, the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), with the support of KyklOIKOdromio, is organizing a "Training Program on Environmental Impact Assessment Studies for Professionals," lasting 39 hours. The program is aimed at individuals or companies/organizations providing consulting services in related fields, who are involved or intend to become involved in preparing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies.

This training program has been designed to provide the necessary qualifications for registration in the Register of EIA Study Coordinators, as well as to offer specialized knowledge for those wishing to work on Environmental Impact Assessments.

The Department of Environment has developed a new institutional framework for the creation of a Register of Consultants, who will serve as Coordinators for preparing Environmental Impact Assessment studies, ensuring compliance with the relevant European Directive provisions and adapting to the specific needs of the Cypriot market. The main goal is to upgrade the quality of environmental studies in the country.

Please note that, as of January 1, 2025, Environmental Impact Assessment Studies will not be accepted if:

• They do not list a Study Coordinator, or
• The listed Study Coordinator is not registered in the Consultant Register.

• The training program includes modules covering various aspects of Environmental Impact Assessment Studies (EIAs), and the instructors and professors come from the Cyprus University of Technology, the University of Cyprus, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and industry experts.
• The program will take place from May to June 2025. The venue will be in Nicosia.
