The Packaging DRS are an important tool for managing waste, promoting recycling and reuse, saving resources and protecting the environment. Through these regulations, the circular economy is strengthened and consumer awareness is raised, creating a more sustainable and responsible society.
After several years of consultation, the Packaging and Packaging Waste (Deposit Return System) Regulations 2024 are now out for public consultation.
The Regulations aim, among other things, to prevent the generation of packaging waste, promote source separation and promote the recycling and reuse of packaging materials.
