Creative Circular Economy Workshops for Tiny Eco-Innovators

KyklOIKOdromio in continuation to the successful summer school workshops at the Montessori Training Centre & The Child's Workshop Kindergarten is now running the weekly afternoon club “Tiny Eco-Innovators” which involves creative workshops for children aged 2-5 years to introduce them to the principles of Circular Economy. The weekly afternoon club began in October 2024 and will be running throughout the year, with Tiny Eco-Innovators crafting unique creations from recyclable materials, fostering their imagination and eco-awareness.

During the first workshop, children celebrated the World Postal Day and crafted small postal boxes and mini paper letters from scrap paper, which they exchanged with each other, filling the room with smiles and joy. In the next workshop, inspired by World Food Day, the children created colourful trees with fruits and pots with vegetables, using simple everyday recyclable materials and transforming them into impressive crafts. In the third workshop, the children created cheerful frogs out of toilet paper rolls and little bugs as food for the frogs and discussed interesting facts about frogs, insects, and biodiversity, sparking their curiosity about the natural world. In the fourth workshop, celebrating Halloween children created spooky figures from recyclable materials. The children loved crafting the bat, as it involved a complex paper-folding technique, and creating mummies from old fabrics, enhancing their creativity through different techniques and material textures. In the next workshop, using paper cup holders, the children crafted colourful robots, showcasing how even the most unusual materials can be given a new life. In the sixth workshop, the young innovators used paper egg cartons and threads to make colourful fish, letting their imaginations run wild. In the seventh workshop, the children used fabrics and cardboard to create colourful figures for a fashion show! In the eighth workshop, to celebrate World Theatre in Education Day, kids made mini puppet theatres filled with imagination and colour. The children loved the activity, crafting small figures ranging from cats to unicorns!

We warmly thank the Montessori Training Centre & The Child's Workshop Kindergarten for their hospitality.

KyklOIKOdromio is committed to continuing these efforts, fostering the imagination, knowledge and environmental awareness of our little friends!
