On November 12, 2024, Agios Nikolaos Lyceum in Limassol hosted KyklOIKOdromio for an alternative teaching period focused on the Circular Economy. The KyklOIKOdromio team provided students with an interactive introduction to the principles of the Circular Economy, emphasizing the 9 R's and their hierarchy, from the most desirable to the least desirable practices.
Approximately 40 students participated, gaining the opportunity to learn about and discuss examples of everyday practices that embody these principles, such as Refuse, Reduce, and Repair. During the second session, students were provided with recyclable materials to create artwork. Divided into two groups, one group constructed a Christmas tree using recyclable materials, while the other created an artwork from fabric and cloth that represented their self-expression. The aim of the workshop was for the students to understand the value of reusing items before they end up in recycling or the trash, realizing how useful they can be even after serving their original purpose.
