The Municipality of Strovolos in cooperation with the NGO KyklOIKOdromio and with the support of the Office of the Commissioner for the Environment, organize an information and awareness-raising action on the topic of the circular economy in primary schools located in the territory of the Municipality of Strovolos. The action will be implemented in the period March 2024-May 2024.

The aim of the action is to inform and raise awareness among students and the local community about the basic principles of the circular economy, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

The aim of the action is for teachers to become familiar with the definitions of the circular economy and its basic principles, so that they will be able to educate students on the individual topics with appropriate adaptations. Students will gain a comprehensive view of the circular economy and understand its basic principles through direct examples and activities.

Teaching children how to use and experience the principles of the circular economy and how they relate to the sustainable development goals provides a solid basis for them to think critically about consumerism, waste management and sustainable living. Encouraging them to turn 'rubbish' into 'treasures' helps them to see products with new eyes and can be the key to a greener future.
